We offer online access, because insurance should be easy to manage. We offer our insurance products through independent agents because of the many advantages they offer. Recently, personal injury lawyer Eric Steinberg represented a client who was seriously injured in a car accident and turned to his auto insurance company, GEICO, for help. After a car accident, you may not consider that you need help calculating the value of your claim and instead trust that your car insurance provider will let you know.
Under this same law, MCL 500.3151, auto insurance companies can send an injured person to be examined “if a person's mental or physical state is important in order to apply for PIP benefits through no fault of their own.” GEICO is one of the largest auto insurance companies in Michigan and across the U.S. Department of State, with more than 17 million auto policies that insure 28 million vehicles. However, under Michigan's no-fault law, people injured in a car accident are entitled to receive certain benefits paid by the auto insurance company responsible for paying the claim. Michigan auto insurers shouldn't be able to decide how much treatment or rehabilitation for a car accident injury should cost.
